Long, long time...

since I've blogged here. I'm feeling the weight of my pregnant belly more and more everyday. It's causing some havoc on my back. I need to see if my chiro can squeeze me in this week sometime. I've been a cleaning fool for the past 2 weeks. I've gotten rid of so much stuff and deep cleaned the closets, cabinets and such. I even cleaned the trash can. I realized that I accumulated a lot of junk. I got rid of so much stuff that I swore I needed when I bought it and out the door it went looking the same as when it came in...new and unused. This has caused an epiphany in my spending and saving mindset. I'm happy to say that since I've started decluttering and came to the realization that I had wasted so much money in the past, we've actually put money into savings. Hundreds of dollars are sitting in my ING acct. There is no wanting here on my end. I'm actually quite content to see it there when I log onto my acct. I know that splurging on something gives me a temporary rush but I've spent so much time moving, rearranging, obsessing about stuff. I feel free now. Stuff can really feel like a straight jacket.

We're on the fence about the name Atticus now. The boy was going to be called Owen, but it's so...plain and ordinary. I wanted something more and we came up with Atticus Grey. It's a lovely name and I like it but I'm just having some second thoughts on taking the plunge and using such an unusual name for a child. Meh. We'll just wait for him and see what he "tells" us. I'm so in love with my little guy. I'm really getting to enjoy my pregnancy this time around. I feel so happy and lucky to have a super daughter, and soon a son will join us. Bliss.

Setting the bar low...

I have an English final this evening. I did some math to figure out what grade I need to get on the final to have a good grade in the class. So according to my math I can..
get a 60% and still have an 80% overall
get a 70% and have an 82% overall
or get an 80% and have an 84% overall
Usually I strive to maintain my 4.0 gpa, but today has been trying. First, I found out that a dear friend of my sister, and someone that I know is in the ICU. She and her girlfriend were in a car accident last night. They hit an UPS semi truck head on. Her girlfriend passed away, and Erin is in the ICU in serious condition. I hope that Erin pulls through. She's such a cool person to know. Details haven't really been released, but it looks as though one or both of them were drunk. Since both were thrown from the car they can't determine who was driving. Erin's jaw is wired shut, and she is heavily sedated so it may be awhile before they know more. If you pray or anything please say one for Erin and her girlfriend.
Ok, I'm pretty sure that I've mentioned that Eric is a librarian. Today, I took Sophie in for storytime. We come out of storytime and wait around for Eric to have his lunch hour. Eric is all pissed at a co-worker, but he won't say who and he took it out on everyone.
I'm so damn sick of playing the infertility game. I'm waiting for my period so that I can go get my Clomid Rx filled. Does anyone know how bad it sucks to have to wait for a period that is so damn unregular it can be tri-monthly? Oh and then once I start the Clomid I'll be crazy insane lady again. I have a baby shower this weekend. It's for my sil. She struggled with infertility too, so in a way it's good to see a positive outcome. On the other hand, I'm apparently helping with the baby shower. I've not been included in the planning because they say that I'm too busy with school and Sophie. Fine by me, but I have no idea what I'm doing and if my name is associated with something, I'd like to have some input.

Picture time! This is the hat that I finished the other day. Yarn is 100% merino from Dashing Dachs. Super duper soft.

Then next up are Sophie's letters. She started writing all her letters in the car one day. Not bad for 3 years old..

I have so many things that I need to do today. I lay awake at night and realize that I had forgotten to do something during the day. So I'm making a to do list.

  • Fill out renewal FAFSA *Done*
  • Clean aquarium
  • English final is tomorrow...study!*Done*
  • Find a recipe for sourdough bread. Already have a sourdough starter going.
  • Vacuum
  • Start reading book for Utopia class assignment
I got a new iBook over the weekend. I think I'm in love. Actually I hardly use it because I'm afraid of ruining it. I'm sure I'll get over that soon enough. I need to find a laptop bag so that I can take it to school with me. I also need to buy word for mac. I, of course, just recently bought the windows version of word. If only I had known. Sigh.

Sophie has been wanting to help me with my yarning(knitting). I bought some gorgeous purple yarn from dashing dachs to make her a hat and mittens. I just finished a hat for myself yesterday. First time that I've ever knitted for myself. I feel so weird doing something for me. The hat is really cute though. I wore it to school today and its just so dang soft.

Today I had algebra and western civ classes. I'm loving school but I hate the evenings when I have to attempt to balance homework, housework and being a mommy. This is the first time that Sophie and I have been apart and its been really hard on both of us. My mil only watches her about 20 hours a week so it isn't like I'm gone "full time" but to me it feels like forever. I am glad to get to use my brain again. I have A's in all of my classes currently. I'm really proud of myself. I feel guilty though because I do have to leave Sophie in order to go to school. Next quarter though my schedule will look like this...
Monday- 1:00-1:50
Tuesday- 9:30-1:50
Weds-     1:00-1:50
Thurs-     9:30-1:50
Friday-    1:00-1:50 With every other Friday at home with daddy.

I think that schedule offers me the most time with her while attending full time. Maybe I wouldn't feel so bad if I picked a major. I have no goal as of yet so I'm kinda just going and taking what I like and trying to narrow it down from there. After being out of school for 6 years and being wrapped up in motherhood it is strange to try to think about "my" future goals.

Last night I took Soph T-or-T for the first time. She was a monkey. We all had a blast and she insists that we go again tonight.
